Submissions for our journal are currently closed

Maryland Law Review Online is no longer accepting applications for Volume 85. The submission period will re-open in March 2025 for Volume 86.

Maryland Law Review Online publishes articles that are 10,000 words or less (including footnotes), but longer pieces may be considered in appropriate cases. Student submissions will be considered in certain circumstances. Please submit your manuscript using Scholastica for consideration. We will also consider manuscripts received via email at mdlr01@law.umaryland.edu, although review will take longer.

Maryland Law Review Online accepts essays, shorter articles, and book reviews for consideration.

To submit to Maryland Law Review Online, please use Scholastica or email the submission, along with your CV, to Senior Online Articles Editor Mia Juliano at mdlr01@umaryland.edu.

Maryland Law Review Online aspires to feature scholarship on current issues and in an accessible manner. To those ends, submissions should not exceed 10,000 words — inclusive of footnotes.

If you are withdrawing an article from consideration, please let us know as soon as possible.
